I had my surgery 12/27/2011. I weighed 425 pre-op, it's been almost 11 weeks and I'm down 74#'s! I now weigh 326 and the weight is still coming off. I no longer take any medicines for my blood pressure or my diabetes! My BMI went from 57.6 to 44.2, I feel great with little to no problems. Dr. Barker, Dr Thompson, and their staff are awesome! It is saving my life. Thanks to EVERYONE at Barker Bariatric Center!

I cannot even begin to tell you how glad I am I had this surgery with Dr. Barker.  Dr. Barker, Dr. T, Dr. Hodges and all their staff are the nicest people you could meet.  They are genuine people interested in YOU!

For 20 years, I have been morbidly obese, with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, terrible arthritis in my knees.  I hurt all the time.  I topped out at 390 pounds.  I was miserable.  I am 5,5" and when I was wheeled in for my surgery I weighed 330 pounds.  I put my total trust in Dr. Barker and his team and he has NEVER let me down.  I had my surgery on December 27, 2010 and today 14 months later, I am 129 pounds.  I have lost 201 pounds in 14 months!  I have gone from a size 3X/4X to a size small; from 28 women's plus jeans to size 4 jeans.

I cannot tell enough people about Dr. Barker.  My husband had surgery with Dr. Barker in June of 2011 and in 8 months, he has lost 145 pounds, and you know we are both having fun together.  I have had many friends have surgery with Dr. Barker since my surgery date, one is scheduled for this month, and 3 are completing their pre-qualification process.

I could never thank Dr. Barker enough for his desire to learn the newest and best techniques for weight loss surgery or for the time he gave us and answered all our questions.  I have never felt rushed and I have always had my questions and concerns answered, as well as calls returned.  I trust Dr. Barker and now I believe in his abilities 100%.  Other friends that have had surgery with other bariatric surgeons have not had the success I have had and want to talk to my doctor.  I tell them, this team at Barker's is HANDS DOWN, the very best.

My stamina and energy that I have is incredible and the clothes I can wear wouldn't even fit my toes before.  I am having so much fun and seeing so many things that I have missed out on because I was too heavy and hurt all the time.

I have NO signs of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea or arthritis.  My body is  healing and recovering and I expect 2012 to be a stupendous year.  A huge thank you to Dr. Barker and his whole team!  I appreciate you all!

I have lost a total of 88 pounds in the last 4 months.  I can't believe how good I feel and how amazing my life is.  I thank GOD for Dr. Barker and his staff.  I would recomend this to anyone who is over weight and struggling with health issues.  I can't wait till summer time so I can take my boys to the pool and I can feel good about myself.  I wont have to wear big ol ugly swimsuit ever again.

I had my gastric bypass in October 2008.  I am 5'5" tall and today I'm 36 yrs old.  The day of my surgery I weighed 250 lbs and wore a size 20 jeans.  I had severe sleep apnea and had so much swelling in my legs & feet that I had to wear a size 10 shoe.  Three months to the day, I had a little hiccup that only happens to 1-2% of gastric bypass patients.  I happen to fall in this percentile regardless of the medical circumstances.  Just lucky I guess.  My intestine collapsed causing a bezor the size of a baseball to lodge in it.  I guess it reached its capacity and wanted to come back out and attempted to do so via back up the way it came in.  Well, that doesn't work so well so I was rushed to the ER & had an emergency EGD to remove it.  It sounds scarier that it was and after that, I haven't experienced one difficulty as the result of my surgery other than getting used to answering the question, "Why didn't you have lapband instead?"  As of today, I weigh 108 lbs and wear a size 0.  I can also wear the size shoe I'm supposed to wear which is a 7 1/2 to 8.  I never anticipated I could be this size.  Although it sounds extremely tiny and to some people it might be, I look and feel fantastic and can do so many things I couldn't do before.  I have also had sever osteoarthritis since I was 12 yrs old and have been diagnosed with degenerative joint disease.  Not having that extra 142 lbs to carry around and has helped my knees and ankles so much.  Of course, about 3 weeks after my surgery I was able to sleep through the night without my CPAP machine and that was so wonderful.  People ask me all the time if I'd do it all over again and all I can say with a huge smile on my face is, "You betcha!"  After my surgery, I was healthy enough and in good enough shape to enlist in the Army and pass all the physical requirements necessary to join.  Unfortunately, I have drug allergies to 6 different medications and that's the only reason I wasn't allowed to go.  Anyway, I am so grateful Dr. Barker helped save me and am so grateful that from the beginning to the end his staff was always amazing.  I referred a close friend of mine to see Dr. Barker about a year after me and he has had wonderful success as well and lost about 120 lbs.  Thank you Dr. Barker! 

I had my weight loss surgery back in December 2007.  Dr. Barker's team was great and walked through the whole process with me.  I am happy to say I have kept the weight off this whole time.  I lost a total of 168 lbs the first year.  I would highly recommend Dr. Barker to anyone looking into weight loss surgery.
